The Listening Room Cafe

One of the first venues in Nashville I took photographs at, back in October 2018. This is its third location, having started in Franklin TN, 15 minutes outside of Nashville in 2006, it moved to the Cummins building in Nashville to be closer to Music Row and the heart of Nashville, its musicians, and songwriters.

Today on 4th Avenue in the SoBro district of Nashville it's a mile from the music bars on Broadway. Built on the premise the songs, the songwriters, and the musicians are the focus, the main attraction, and not merely background noise.

Two shows a night with 3-5 songwriters (many who've been finalists on #THEVOICE #AGT #Americanidol performing original songs they’ve written. Don’t be surprised if you get to hear a #1 hit song – and not just country- the performer wrote, but another artist/musician recorded and took it to the top of the charts. Don’t be surprised who might show up on stage and perform or step out of the audience and sing 'their' song.

There is the story of
‘I wrote this song and Keith Urban recorded it and he’s here tonight and going to perform it’,
it happened.

Chris Blair Chris Blair Schoessel the visionary behind this has created a listening room for songwriters and the audience, where people come from around the world to listen. The sound quality is as good as any you'll hear throughout Music City. Any table conversation is kept to a minimum, and you’ll learn a little about the story behind the song from the original songwriter.
